Honda Two Wheelers India has launched its first 125cc automatic scooter in India with the Activa 125. Based on the hugely popular Activa, this new model is said to have been developed to offer a compelling blend of performance, efficiency, comfort and advanced features in the highly competitive 125cc scooter segment.
Honda Activa 125 has the largest engine of the three scooters, but only marginally. Nevertheless, the Activa produces the most power, a decent 8.48bhp at 6500 rpm, the Access produces a peak power of 8.46bhp at 7000 rpm while the Rodeo makes 7.93bhp at 7000 rpm. The Activa outdoes the competition when it comes to torque as well. It produces 1.03kgm at 5500 rpm, higher than the Access’s 0.99kgm at 5000 rpm and the Rodeo’s 0.91kgm at 5000 rpm. All three scooters use a CVT gearbox to transfer power to the rear wheel.
Honda is offering front disc brakes on the Activa, while on the Suzuki and the Mahindra, drum brakes do duty. The disc brake variant of the Activa comes with alloy wheels for additional style.
